Permits & Accreditations.

Current engagement: QC testing laboratory

Twenty-six permits, registrations, and accreditations stand between an empty building and a first sample. These six are the most important in each category, the ones that gate whether the lab can open.

  1. 01
    Building & Operations

    Commercial Certificate of Occupancy

No one works in the building until it is issued. Every building, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire approval rolls up into it.

    Issued by Local municipality
    TargetBefore February 1, 2027
  2. 02
    Water & Environmental

    Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Permit

Lab sinks and instrument drains discharge to the city sewer. This permit sets what the lab may send down the drain.

    Issued by Local municipality
    TargetOctober 2026
  3. 03
    Gas Storage & Generator

Hazardous Materials and Flammable Liquid Storage Permit

QC chemistry runs on solvents and reagents. Storage quantities, cabinets, and room limits are set here.

    Issued by Local municipality
    TargetDecember 2026 to January 2027
  4. 04
    Waste Management

U.S. EPA Hazardous Waste Generator ID

A generator must hold an EPA ID before any hazardous waste leaves the site, so spent solvents cannot be shipped without it.

    Issued by State environmental agency
    TargetSeptember 30, 2026
  5. 05
    Quality & Laboratory

    ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation

The international standard for testing laboratory competence. Clients and regulators use it to trust the lab’s results.

Issued by Accreditation body (A2LA or ANAB)
    TargetNovember 2026
  6. 06
    Global Regulatory

    FDA Establishment Registration and cGMP

FDA counts analytical testing of drugs as manufacturing under 21 CFR 207, so the lab registers and operates to cGMP under Part 211.

Issued by U.S. Food and Drug Administration
    TargetBefore client release testing
